B. Ed is a degree qualification that is required for teaching schools in India. One has to possess this degree level if one wants to take up the teaching profession. In its traditional way, the B.Ed course is a Degree course that is taken after the completion of graduation level. Initially, the B.Ed course duration was one year. In 2015-16, this course was modified and the duration was increased to two years.

Now, if anyone wants to pursue B.Ed course after graduation, then it will take five years to complete the whole course program. For instance, an undergraduate course such as B.A, B.Sc will take three years and followed this B.Ed course will take two years. In total, the whole process will take five years (Three+ Two) to complete.

However, the Integrated B.Ed course can be taken right after the completion of intermediate. Also, one of the benefits of doing this way is that the course duration will only take four years to complete. Yes, one year will be less than the method for the graduation level.

B.Sc + B.Ed Course

B.Sc + B.Ed program is a four-year integrated undergraduate course that offers a dual degree level. It is designed according to NCTE guidelines to prepare skilled teachers in the future. This course covers different subjects that include, science, physics, chemistry, mathematics, botany and zoology with also three interrelated curricular areas. During these four years, students complete their graduation in science along with a Bachelor of Education. It saves one year for students. This integrated B.Ed course has been designed to provide theoretical knowledge as well as practical skills to the students. Moreover, it also empowers students with problem-solving and communication skills.

The eligibility criteria for the B.Sc + B.Ed course is that the candidates should have passed intermediate in the Science stream. Also, the minimum aggregate is 50 percent to apply for this integrated B.Ed course.
