Echoing Green Fellowship 2020: Echoing Green’s world-renowned is a two-year Fellowship program that grants more than $2 million in seed funding to a distinct group of the world’s most encouraging social entrepreneurs. Echoing Green Fellowship Stipend

The fellowship grants seed funding and assistance to more than 450 social entrepreneurs with bright ideas for cultural change to launch groundbreaking companies around the world. An allowance of $80,000 for people ($90,000 for 2- person partnerships) spent in four equal instalments covering two years.

Echoing Green Fellowship Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Candidates must have English fluency to compete in interviews and Echoing Green functions.
  • Organisation needs to be the innovative idea of the candidate.
  • Organisation should be in a start-up stage. To be recognised as a start-up, the company may have been in action for up to two years, and Echoing Green’s financial assistance should qualify it as an important early funder. Candidates who have only served on their organisation on a part-time basis or have still to start the organisation are usually considered suitable.
  • The organisation must be sovereign and autonomous. Organisations cannot be recommended independent or autonomous if they are started under the management of an existing organisation. The candidate must be the principal decision-maker for the organisation’s growth and management. Usually, organisations with fiscal supporters are still deemed autonomous.
  • Candidates must make a full-time responsibility (minimum 35 hours per week) to the organisation’s growth for the continuation of the two-year grant. It is assumed that all elected fellows leave from their current employment to devote themselves full-time to their actions. Candidates will not be suitable for their fellowship stipend if their company is put on hold due to disagreements with their studies.
  • Partnerships are applied (organisations co-founded and led by two individuals). Both allies must meet all eligibility qualifications and make a full-time dedication of no fewer than 35 hours per week to the improvement of the organisation.
  • Candidates can be residents of any nationality and their companies can be based in any nation. However, candidates based in the US must have lawful status to work in the US. If Candidate are allowed to work in the US, but this state is granted to Candidate by Candidate’s current company and Candidate is only allowed to work for that company, Candidate is not likely to apply for a US-based program.
  • Candidates must convey to accompany Echoing Green’s training conventions if chosen as fellows. All new fellows visit a conference in summer season the year they are chosen, as well as a winter convention for two years. Echoing Green comprises all costs related to these events and will publish the dates a few months before each conference.

Echoing Green Fellowship Benefits

TCS Research Fellowship

TCS Research Fellowship 2020-2021: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has discovered the TCS Research Fellowship scheme to magnify the talent centre of research in Computing Sciences in the nation. TCS Research Fellowship Stipend

The selected candidates will be getting a stipend of Rs. 18,000 per month for the first two years of the fellowship and Rs.20,000 per month for the next two years.

Other Benefits/Incentives

  • The selected TCS research fellows candidates will get a complete assistant to take part in one International refereed Conference, operated outside India, during four years, where he/she has a document to present, he/she being one of the writers of the paper. The provider would cover trips, conference booking, accommodation and living wage as per the norms of TCS.
  • To participate in one International Refereed Conference, held outside India, during four years, where the leader has a paper to impersonate, TCS Research fellow being a coauthor, but not striving in the conference. The provider would cover travel, conference booking, accommodation and living wage as per the norms of TCS.
  • To take part in two International / National refereed Conferences, operated in India, during four years, where he/she has a document to present, he/she being one of the writers of the paper. The support would include travel, conference listing, accommodation and living adjustment as per the norms of TCS.
  • One time emergency grant of Rs. 1 Lakh to the institute for every Candidate registered as TCS Research fellow to meet any incidental costs related to the plan by the Candidate, as recommended by his/her research guide.
  • Visits and Interactions of TCS Research Fellow to TCS Innovation Laboratories based on projects requirements, as judged by TCS Innovation Laboratory involved

TCS Research Fellowship Application Procedure

Applications should be submitted by the candidate in the following format

  • Letter of application from the Candidate
  • Letter of assistance from the institute
  • Research area document should include a brief review, descriptive problem statement, proposed scope and focus
  • CV of the Candidate should include education, grades secured, honours, publication list and work experience (if any)

TCS Research Fellowship Selection Procedure

The key elements based on which candidates are selected are:

While the institute should choose the Candidates for this programme, TCS possesses the right to allow some or none of the candidates supported by the institute. Further, TCS holds the right to interview a Candidate, if it deems important for the preference for the scheme.

In those cases, interviews will be managed in one of the Innovation Labs of TCS and candidates should move to the designated Lab for the meeting. To-and-fro 2 nd A/c rail fare from the institute to the position of the interview will be paid to each candidate called for the interview.

Important Instructions of TCS Research Fellowship

The Fellowship can be finished by TCS, with one month of the period of notice, based on the execution review report and also for any breach of any operational rules appropriate to all the research Candidates of the institute.

The Institute will imply TCS on the date of filing of any patent compared to any discovery by the TCS Research Scholar under this programme. TCS would be given a permit on reasonable and non-discriminatory terms for any such license which has been awarded, on jointly agreed terms. The Institute is available to distribute any work produced by the TCS Research Scholar presented it sends TCS a written suggestion along with the work that will be distributed 30 days before such notification.

TCS Innovation Laboratory will watch for possibilities of collaborations with the TCS Research scholar/institute, even surpassing the period of internship.

Fellowship can be received adding to PhD Fellowship that the Candidate gets from other sources, granted that there is no breach of rules of any of the sources.

Fulbright Nehru Fellowship Eligibility Criteria

Below are the details of eligibility requirements for all the fellowships under the Fulbright Nehru Scheme. Candidates who are eligible can apply for it.

Fulbright-Nehru Master’s Fellowships

  1. The candidate must have finished a four-year undergraduate degree from any approved Indian university. If the bachelor’s degree is more limited than four-years, the applicant must have finished a master’s degree.
  2. The applicant should hold a paid work experience of at least three years before the servility of their application in a field related to their college/university education.
  3. The applicant must represent expertise in leadership and community assistance.
  4. Candidates must not hold any prior degrees from the U.S. and mustn’t be registered in any American degree courses.
  5. If the applicant is still hired, she/he should precisely follow the directions regarding the employer’s advertisement.

Fulbright-Nehru Doctoral Fellowships

  1. Applicants must have done proper research in the wanted field and should be enrolled for PhD at a known Indian institution on or before September 1, 2018. One of the reference letters on the online application form should come from the Ph.D. supervisor and must specify the date and the subject of research.
  2. The proposed research submission date shouldn’t be ahead more than three months after the Fulbright-Nehru Doctoral award end date.
  3. A work sample (published paper/master’s thesis extract) must be uploaded by the candidate while submitting the online application form.
  4. If the applicant is hired, they should thoughtfully examine the information concerning the employer’s endorsement and follow the directions accordingly. If suitable, the applicant needs to get FNDR Employer’s Advertisement Form (available at USIEF website) completed by their company.

Fulbright-Nehru Postdoctoral Research Fellowships

  1. The candidate must have finished their Ph.D. not more than four years before the period of application. All applicants are expected to upload their Ph.D. degrees/temporary certificate while applying.
  2. Applicants must have written articles in notable journals and should represent academic sovereignty.
  3. If the applicant is hired she/he must understand the employer’s advertisement instructions carefully.

Fulbright-Nehru Academic and Professional Excellence Fellowships

  1. Apart from five years of experience in research/teaching, the applicant must have a written work or a Ph.D. degree.
  2. For applicants who are not in academia, ownership of a master’s degree or equivalent distributed work apart from the five years of related work experience is needed.
  3. The candidate must upload a recent publication in the online application.
  4. Applicants who are hired must follow the employer’s advertisement instructions thoroughly.

Fulbright-Nehru International Education Administrators Seminar

  1. The candidate should be a college/institute/university official (deans, department heads, vice-chancellors, etc) at mid-level or superior level in India.
  2. Must hold at least two years of expertise in the related field.
  3. Should manage a high level of academic/professional accomplishments.
  4. Must have the capacity and the will to change the curriculum of their institute to do it more globally improved by performing international collaborations, exchange, etc.

Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program

  1. Applicant must have a master’s degree or a professional degree of at least four years’ duration;
  2. Applicant must have at least five years of firm professional experience before August 2021 in the corresponding field, and be eligible for leave;
  3. Applicant must have proved leadership qualities;
  4. Applicant must have a history of public service in the community; and
  5. Applicants must provide the job to return to India on fulfillment of the fellowship.

Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant Program

  1. Applicants should be citizens of India.
  2. Applicants should have good Fluency in English. A score of no less than 79-80 on the internet-based TOEFL is needed.
  3. Indian candidates must have at least a master’s degree by June 2020 with an excellent academic record. The master’s degree should be in areas such as English language, English/American Literature, American Studies, Linguistics, Comparative Literature and the relevant regions.
  4. A youthful teacher of English at the college level or practice to become a teacher of English or is a young professional in a similar field.
  5. Applicants should have prior teaching experience.

Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program (FTEA)

  1. Applicants should be a full-time school teacher in a school for class 6th to 12th, that follows a primarily local population.
  2. Applicant should have completed at least five years of full-time teaching by the origin of the program in FTEA teaching disciplines: English, English as a Foreign Language (EFL), Social Studies, Mathematics, Science, or Special Education;
  3. Applicant should live and teach in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Lakshadweep and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Daman and Diu, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli;
  4. Applicants should have earned a bachelor’s degree.
  5. Applicant should be an Indian Citizen

Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Program for international teachers (Fulbright DAI)

  1. The applicant should be a citizen of India and reside in India while applying.
  2. Applicants should live and teach in the states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura, West Bengal, Chandigarh, Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh;
  3. Applicants should possess at least a bachelor’s degree. A teacher training degree is favored.
  4. Applicants should be a full-time teacher teaching any subject at any level (primary, middle, secondary or senior secondary).
  5. Applicants should have finished at least five years of full-time teaching experience at the program start.
  6. Applicants should be either primary and secondary level library media specialists, guidance counselors, curriculum specialists, special education coordinators, and administrators, who spend at least fifty percent of their time teaching or working directly with students may also apply to the program.
  7. Teacher trainers are eligible to apply.

  9. Applicants should show a commitment to resume teaching or working in their field after fulfillment of the program. Applicants should be intending to continue working in primary or secondary education for at least five years after the end of the program.

The SERB is a statutory wing of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. The program aims to provide postdoctoral fellowships to candidates pursuing frontier areas of science and engineering. SERB Overseas Postdoctoral Fellowship Eligibility Criteria

Interested Candidates must ensure that they fulfil the following criteria to be deemed eligible for the fellowship

  • The candidate must be an Indian National
  • Candidates must have completed their Ph.D. degree in science and engineering not earlier than the preceding two years from a recognized Indian institution.
  • The above-mentioned criteria may be relaxed for researchers who are in regular employment. However, they must be under 35 years of age. (5 years relaxation for SC/ST/ OBC, physically handicapped and women candidates)
  • Candidates must have also acquired the offer letter from the overseas host institutions (except the USA).

SERB Overseas Postdoctoral Fellowship Selection Process

Candidates are required to seek admission to postdoctoral programs in institutions abroad to be eligible for the selection process. Moreover, the candidate must undertake their research  in the following fields:

SERB Overseas Postdoctoral Fellowship Agreement Bond

Interested candidates are required to sign a bond stating that their fellowship will be treated as a loan if they fail to come back to India or discontinue their course midway. Furthermore, penal interest would also be changed to these candidates.

SERB Overseas Postdoctoral Fellowship Amount

  • Candidates who are selected will be paid a monthly fellowship amount of USD 3,000.
  • They will also be eligible for a one-time preparatory or contingency allowance of INR 60,000 to cover insurance, visa and airport charges.
  • Furthermore, the candidates will be provided with the shortest route in economy class airfare from India to the host institution and back.

SERB Overseas Postdoctoral Fellowship Guidelines

Candidates must follow the given guidelines to ensure that their application is not rejected:

  • The application for consideration under the SERB OPDF can be furnished only when the call for application is made
  • The format of the application must strictly adhere to rules and format provided by the board as per Annexure 1
  • The duration of the fellowship is 1 year, with the chance of extending one more year if the candidate exhibits good performance. Hence, the total duration of the fellowship will not extend beyond 2 years.
  • Fellowships with a duration of fewer than 6 months will not be entertained. However, exceptional cases may be accepted.
  • Researchers who are employed, rules governing salary and other benefits, such as GPF,  gratuity and pension of the university/ organization or institution to which the candidate belongs would continue to be applicable.
  • The selected candidates are required to commence their research within three months of being given the offer letter. If the candidate fails to commence their research, their candidature will be cancelled and no communication will be entertained thereafter.
  • If an employed candidate wants to pursue the fellowship, the application for SERB OPDF must be sent through the head of the department/ organization where the candidate is employed
  • The candidate must also submit a letter of approval of the research plan from the host.
  • The candidate must submit three copies of applications printed on both sides of an A4 sized-sheet to the program coordinator.

Scope of the National Fellowship Scheme

  • The scheme provides 2000 fellowships, of which 1500 are for Junior Research Fellows for Social Sciences and Humanities while the remaining 500 fellowships are reserved for Junior Research Fellows for Science Stream.

National Fellowship for SC Eligibility Criteria

Interested candidates must ensure that they fulfill the following criteria to be deemed eligible:

  • Candidates must belong to Scheduled Caste community
  • Candidates must also be pursuing full-time regular M.Phil, Ph.D. courses from UGC recognized universities or educational institutions
  • Candidates who have already secured admission and cleared their NET exam will be given preference – these candidates must compulsorily join the fellowship within three months of being issued the award letter
  • In the case that sufficient candidates who already secured admission are not available, the candidates who have not secured admission will be selected on the basis of merit.
  • Moreover, the selected scholar is eligible to receive only one fellowship at a time. The scholar is required to declare that they shall not receive or accept any other fellowship or monetary benefits while under the duration of the NFSC.
  • After two years, if the work of the Junior Research Fellow is found to be satisfactory, then their tenure will be extended for another 3 years under the title of Senior Research Fellow.
  • Employees of colleges, universities, educational institutions, Central or State government offices will be excluded from availing fellowships under this scheme even if they are on Sabbatical.

  • The nodal agency for the fellowship scheme is the University Grants Commission (UGC)
  • The fellowship will be awarded on the basis of merit secured in the UGC-NET-JRF or the UGC-CSIR NET-JRF examination
  • The merit for the National Fellowship for SC will be drawn through the NET examination, however, candidates who have already secured admission will be given preference
  • Candidates who have secured admission must join their respective fellowship within three months of being presented with the JRF award letter. Candidates who fail to join within the stipulated time period will have their candidature cancelled.
  • Candidates who are qualified, but not have secured admission during the time of application are instructed to secure a full-time regular admission for Ph.D. or M.Phil courses from a UGC recognized university

  • In the case that hostel accommodation is unavailable, the host may provide a single accommodation by the host institution. The rent paid by the scholar on an actual basis will be reimbursed, subject to the prevailing HRA ceiling.
  • Similarly, if the scholar makes their own accommodation, reimbursement will be provided, subject to the HRA ceiling set by the Government of India.
  • The scholars must submit monthly confirmation certificate to the host institution if they  wish to claim HRA on a monthly basis
