Born and raised in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, Viswanathan Anand won the World Chess Championship five times until now.
During his childhood, he practised playing chess with his chess guru; his mother and won the Indian National Sub-Junior Championship when he was only fourteen. Anand’s mother was a homemaker who taught him chess while his father was a general manager at the Southern Railways. Raised with two other siblings, Viswanathan Anand made India proud because of his various chess accomplishments.
Consequently, with hard work and determination, at the age of 15, he won his first international title. After that, for 3 consecutive years, he won the National championships. So by the time he was 18, he had become the national chess master.
