(a) n(A ∪ B) = n(A) + n(B) – n(A ∩ B)

(d) n(A ∪ B) = n(A – B) + n(B – A) + n(A ∩ B).

A = {multiples of 5} and

B = {multiples of 6}, then

(ii) verify that

n(A ∪ B) = B (A) + n(B) – n(A ∩ B).

(i) (A ∪ B)’ = A’ ∩ B’

(iii) A – B = A ∩ B’

(iv) B – A = B ∩ A’
