MBA entrance exams provide admission in one of the topmost business schools in India. There are a number of MBA entrance exams such as CAT, MAT, XAT, IIFT, NMAT, SNAP, etc. Let us have a look at some of the MBA entrance exams in detail.
List of MBA Entrance Exams in India
CAT (Common Entrance Test)
CAT is amongst the most important MBA entrance exam conducted by one of the 20 IIMs in rotation. The exam is conducted in the month of November and is pone of the toughest entrance exams for MBA. The students having a graduate degree with atleast 50% marks can appear for CAT.
XAT (Xavier’s Admission Test)
This is one of the oldest MBA entrance exams in India. The exam is conducted in the month of January. Students with a graduate degree from any recognized university are eligible for XAT.
MAT (Management Aptitude Test)
The MAT entrance exam is conducted four times a year, in the month of February, May, September, and December. The candidates need to have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline to appear for MAT. It is, however, one of the most popular entrance exams in the country.
SNAP (Symbiosis National Aptitude Test)
Symbiosis National Aptitude Test is conducted by Symbiosis International University, one of the renowned business universities in India. A graduate with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent CGPA is eligible for this entrance test.
CMAT (Common Management Admission Test)
CMAT is conducted by National Testing Agency for admissions in post-graduate management programs offered by various institutes. A graduate with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent CGPA is eligible for this entrance test. This is an online exam with objective type questions.
The CAT score is accepted by the IIMs across the country. XLRI and IIFT conduct their respective entrance exams XAT and IIFT. SPIJMR is among the top B-schools that accept the CMAT score.
Eligibility Criteria for MBA entrance exam
- 10+2+Any Degree
- Any Bachelor Degree with 50% marks (General) or 40% marks (SC/ST) category
- The candidates who are studying final year in a bachelor’s degree from a recognized institute are eligible to apply for attending a MBA entrance exam.
