CLAT (Common Law Entrance Test)
This exam is conducted at the national level organized by 18 National Law Universities on rotation for admissions in their under-graduate and post-graduate courses. Some of the National Law Universities include NALSAR, NALSIU, NLIU, NLU, WBNUJS and GNLU.
LSAT (Law School Admission Test)
LSAT is conducted four times a year for LLB and LLM admissions. It is a standardized test of verbal reasoning and reading skills. Some of the universities that accept the LSAT score include Amity Law School, SRM University, Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law, Galgoia University Law School, IIT Kharagpur Law School, etc.
AIBE (All India Bar Exam)
This exam is conducted to test a lawyer’s ability to practice the profession of law in the country. This exam does not provide admissions to law colleges in India. The Bar Council of India awards the candidate with the “Certificate of Practice” after qualifying the examination.
AILET (All India Law Entrance Test)
This exam is conducted only for the National Law University, Delhi LLB, LLM and Ph.D admissions.
SET (Symbiosis Entrance Test)
This common entrance test is conducted for the candidates aspiring for admission in Symbiosis Law Schools, Pune and Noida. There are about 60 seats for the three-year law course and 300 seats for the five year integrated LLB course.
Delhi University Law Entrance Exam
This exam is conducted by Delhi University for admissions to various PG programs in various law programs.
Other law entrance exams include Bhartiya Vidyapeeth Common Entrance Test (BVP CET), Aligarh Muslim University Law Entrance Exam (AMU), Banaras Hindu University Undergraduate Entrance Test (BHU UET).
