Fulbright Nehru Fellowship 2021-2022: Fulbright-Nehru Awards facilitate the most exceptional students, academics and experts in India and the U.S. to study, analyze and practice in the host nation.

Fulbright Nehru Fellowship Eligibility Criteria

Below are the details of eligibility requirements for all the fellowships under the Fulbright Nehru Scheme. Candidates who are eligible can apply for it.

Fulbright-Nehru Master’s Fellowships

  1. The candidate must have finished a four-year undergraduate degree from any approved Indian university. If the bachelor’s degree is more limited than four-years, the applicant must have finished a master’s degree.
  2. The applicant should hold a paid work experience of at least three years before the servility of their application in a field related to their college/university education.
  3. The applicant must represent expertise in leadership and community assistance.
  4. Candidates must not hold any prior degrees from the U.S. and mustn’t be registered in any American degree courses.
  5. If the applicant is still hired, she/he should precisely follow the directions regarding the employer’s advertisement.

Fulbright-Nehru Doctoral Fellowships

  1. Applicants must have done proper research in the wanted field and should be enrolled for PhD at a known Indian institution on or before September 1, 2018. One of the reference letters on the online application form should come from the Ph.D. supervisor and must specify the date and the subject of research.
  2. The proposed research submission date shouldn’t be ahead more than three months after the Fulbright-Nehru Doctoral award end date.
  3. A work sample (published paper/master’s thesis extract) must be uploaded by the candidate while submitting the online application form.
  4. If the applicant is hired, they should thoughtfully examine the information concerning the employer’s endorsement and follow the directions accordingly. If suitable, the applicant needs to get FNDR Employer’s Advertisement Form (available at USIEF website) completed by their company.

Fulbright-Nehru Postdoctoral Research Fellowships

  1. The candidate must have finished their Ph.D. not more than four years before the period of application. All applicants are expected to upload their Ph.D. degrees/temporary certificate while applying.
  2. Applicants must have written articles in notable journals and should represent academic sovereignty.
  3. If the applicant is hired she/he must understand the employer’s advertisement instructions carefully.

Fulbright-Nehru Academic and Professional Excellence Fellowships

  1. Apart from five years of experience in research/teaching, the applicant must have a written work or a Ph.D. degree.
  2. For applicants who are not in academia, ownership of a master’s degree or equivalent distributed work apart from the five years of related work experience is needed.
  3. The candidate must upload a recent publication in the online application.
  4. Applicants who are hired must follow the employer’s advertisement instructions thoroughly.

Fulbright-Nehru International Education Administrators Seminar

  1. The candidate should be a college/institute/university official (deans, department heads, vice-chancellors, etc) at mid-level or superior level in India.
  2. Must hold at least two years of expertise in the related field.
  3. Should manage a high level of academic/professional accomplishments.
  4. Must have the capacity and the will to change the curriculum of their institute to do it more globally improved by performing international collaborations, exchange, etc.

Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program

  1. Applicant must have a master’s degree or a professional degree of at least four years’ duration;
  2. Applicant must have at least five years of firm professional experience before August 2021 in the corresponding field, and be eligible for leave;
  3. Applicant must have proved leadership qualities;
  4. Applicant must have a history of public service in the community; and
  5. Applicants must provide the job to return to India on fulfillment of the fellowship.

Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant Program

  1. Applicants should be citizens of India.
  2. Applicants should have good Fluency in English. A score of no less than 79-80 on the internet-based TOEFL is needed.
  3. Indian candidates must have at least a master’s degree by June 2020 with an excellent academic record. The master’s degree should be in areas such as English language, English/American Literature, American Studies, Linguistics, Comparative Literature and the relevant regions.
  4. A youthful teacher of English at the college level or practice to become a teacher of English or is a young professional in a similar field.
  5. Applicants should have prior teaching experience.

Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program (FTEA)

  1. Applicants should be a full-time school teacher in a school for class 6th to 12th, that follows a primarily local population.
  2. Applicant should have completed at least five years of full-time teaching by the origin of the program in FTEA teaching disciplines: English, English as a Foreign Language (EFL), Social Studies, Mathematics, Science, or Special Education;
  3. Applicant should live and teach in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Lakshadweep and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Daman and Diu, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli;
  4. Applicants should have earned a bachelor’s degree.
  5. Applicant should be an Indian Citizen
  6. Applicant should be present in India at the time of applying
  7. Applicant should obtain a minimum score of 450 on paper-based TOEFL or 61 on iBT TOEFL or equivalent English language exam
  8. Applicant should show a commitment to continue teaching after finish of the program
  9. Applicants should have submitted a complete application.

Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Program for international teachers (Fulbright DAI)

  1. The applicant should be a citizen of India and reside in India while applying.
  2. Applicants should live and teach in the states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura, West Bengal, Chandigarh, Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh;
  3. Applicants should possess at least a bachelor’s degree. A teacher training degree is favored.
  4. Applicants should be a full-time teacher teaching any subject at any level (primary, middle, secondary or senior secondary).
  5. Applicants should have finished at least five years of full-time teaching experience at the program start.
  6. Applicants should be either primary and secondary level library media specialists, guidance counselors, curriculum specialists, special education coordinators, and administrators, who spend at least fifty percent of their time teaching or working directly with students may also apply to the program.
  7. Teacher trainers are eligible to apply.
  8. Applicants should express good English language proficiency.
  9. Applicants should show a commitment to resume teaching or working in their field after fulfillment of the program. Applicants should be intending to continue working in primary or secondary education for at least five years after the end of the program.

What is the selection procedure?

Answer:
